On February 8, 2005, our cat Casey died from what we found later to be feline endomyocarditis (EMC).  This condition causes sudden and often unexplained deterioration of the heart and led to the sudden heart and lung problems that Casey experienced during the last two days of her life.  Casey was only 7 years old.  Our thanks go out again the to people at the NCSU Veterinary Teaching hospital for all the work they did to try to save Casey.  Special thanks go to Dr. Margaret Booth who was Casey's cardiologist.
