A visit to Palladio's city, Vicenza, where we visited his masterpiece, the Teatro Olimpico, his last and most exciting work, based on the model of the ancient Roman theatre. The anterooms are all frescoedwith important figures in Venetian history and the permanent stage set of a piazza and streets is done in perfect perspective. We next visited Palladio's Basilica with magnificent open galleries with panoramas of the Venetian plains and the Alps. We also strolled through the beautiful gardens of one of his most famous creations, Villa Rotunda.
